Wisconsin women's hockey: Baylee Wellhausen named WCHA Rookie of the Week

Wellhausen is the third Badger to earn the honor this season.

Wisconsin freshman Baylee Wellhausen was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week on Tuesday following her one-goal, one-assist weekend at Bemidji State last week.

Wellhausen scored the game-winning goal in Friday night's 2-1 victory and notched the assist to fellow freshman Emily Clark on Saturday's second goal, giving the Badgers a lead they never relinquished.

Wellhausen now has two goals and two assists on the season. She was +2 with a .333 shooting percentage on the weekend.

Wisconsin takes its program-best 15-game road win streak to North Dakota this weekend for a 7 p.m. Friday night game and 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon game.
