Senior Madison Packer was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week and freshman goalie Ann-Renée Desbiens was named WCHA Newcomer of the Week Wednesday following the Wisconsin's four-point weekend at Minnesota Duluth.

Packer received the honor after having a hand in each of the Badgers' three goals over the two games. She had an assist and scored the game-tying goal on Friday and also assisted on the lone goal in Saturday's game.

Desbiens earned her award on just a period-and-a-half of play, when she came entered in relief of injured Alex Rigsby midway through the Saturday's game. She completed the shutout with 13 saves, 10 of which came in the third period. The Bulldogs played an extended period with their goalie pulled to end Saturday's game, but Desbiens kept them off the board despite the extra skater.

From the UW release: "Over four games and 207:07 minutes played as a rookie this season, Desbiens owns a 4-0-0 record, a 0.87 goals-against average and a .962 save percentage."

Completing the shutout Saturday took the Badgers' unbeaten streak to 12 games, the longest in the country.

Wisconsin is back in action Friday and Sunday vs. Bemidji St. at LaBahn Arena. Both games are scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
