Badgers recruit Seamus Malone will once again don the sweater of his home country, as USA Hockey announced Thursday he would be part of the 22 man roster the U.S. sends to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia for the 2013 World Junior A Challenge Nov. 4-10.
A 2014 NHL draft eligible player, Malone has scored two goals and added an assist through four games this season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL. Along with fellow UW recruit Keegan Ford, Malone and the Saints won both the USHL regular and post season championships last year.
The World Junior A Challenge is in its eighth year and the United States will be competing for the seventh time. The 2013 field includes the Canada East, Canada West, Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland and the United States. Team USA has won four of the last five tournaments (2008-10, '12).
