The linebackers continue to pour in for the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Badgers have secured a commitment from UNC linebacker Sebastian Cheeks, he announced on Thursday.
Cheeks, a redshirt freshman, saw minimal action in 2023, recording 1 tackle with the UNC Tar Heels.
At Wisconsin, Cheeks will suit up as an inside linebacker, filling out some of the depth that the team is losing with Jordan Turner and Maema Njongmeta not returning in 2023.
Last week, the Badgers landed Northern Iowa transfer Jahsiah Galvan, who played extensively in 2023 as a redshirt freshman. Now, they land Cheeks, an intriguing linebacker who was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022.
Cheeks had taken an official visit with several other transfer portal targets earlier this month, and now joins a Wisconsin program that will see a lot of turnover at linebacker in 2024.
Cheeks is the eighth transfer to commit to Wisconsin in this cycle, joining Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, William & Mary outside linebacker John Pius, Syracuse outside linebacker Leon Lowery, Cincinnati long snapper Cayson Pfeiffer, Michigan State wide receiver Tyrell Henry, LSU tight end Jackson McGohan, and Northern Iowa linebacker Jahsiah Galvan
