The wait is finally over.

2024 four-star defensive back Xavier Lucas has signed his National Letter of Intent, choosing the Wisconsin Badgers over the Miami Hurricanes in a recruitment that went all the way down to the wire.

Lucas, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had committed to the Badgers back in August, but was being recruited hard by both Miami and Florida State, although the latter ultimately backed off.

In the end, Lucas stayed true to his commitment and will now join a 2024 class that already has four-star cornerback Omillio Agard and three-star defensive backs Raphael Dunn and Jay Harper.

Lucas is the 20th recruit to sign for the Badgers, who have now confirmed each of their commits in their 2024 recruiting class.

However, the magic isn’t done yet, as the Badgers are still firmly in the running for uncommitted four-star defensive end Ernest Willor Jr., while they’re still looking to flip three-star tight end Rob Booker, who initially committed to Wisconsin before flipping to UCLA.
