The Wisconsin Badgers were the first team to offer 2026 linebacker Colsen Gatten back in June, jumping in the mix early for one of the emerging recruits in the class.
Gatten’s recruitment has started to unfold, as the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native has earned five offers: Wisconsin, Nebraska, Pitt, Tennessee, and Penn State, while Notre Dame has been involved as well.
A Penn State legacy, the linebacker was especially excited to earn an offer from the Badgers, given the standard of play at the position at Wisconsin.
“The feeling was unmatched,” Gatten shared to Bucky’s 5th Quarter. “Wisconsin is a big one especially as a linebacker. Being offered by Coach Tressel was a very cool feeling.”
Gatten has stayed local for visits this fall, focusing on Penn State and Pittsburgh, but plans to make a visit back to Madison in the spring.
As Gatten’s recruitment picks up steam, the linebacker is feeling an attachment to all of the schools that have offered him thus far, with Tennessee being the latest to join the mix.
Conversations with the Badgers staff have been limited, given the recruitment rule for underclassmen, but Wisconsin has made a good impression on the 2026 linebacker, whose recruitment should only continue to pick up over the next year.
