The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from 2025 three-star linebacker Cooper Catalano, he announced on Tuesday.
Catalano, a 6’2, 215-pound in-state linebacker from Germantown, Wisconsin, has long been a prized recruit for the Badgers, and ultimately committed after several visits to the program with both the new and old staff.
The three-star recruit took multiple visits over the summer, where inside linebackers coach Mike Tressel affirmed that Catalano was the team’s No. 1 target at the position in the class.
“It’s been a great relationship. We’ve kinda moved passed the recruiting aspect and we just talk about various things like football and golf and how to get better within football,” Catalano said about Tressel after his June visit.
Catalano currently holds seven offers, including ones from Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, but ultimately chose the latter, staying in his home state.
Catalano becomes the four commit in the class, joining three-star cornerback Remington Moss, three-star offensive lineman Michael Roeske, and three-star quarterback Landyn Locke, the brother of current Badgers redshirt freshman Braedyn Locke.
With National Signing Day coming up in a month, the Badgers’ are fully focused on their 2025 class and have gotten off to a good start.
