The Wisconsin Badgers have been making inroads out west the past week, and one of the more intriguing possibilities is the offer made Friday to Fontana (Summit), Calif., prospect Damian Alloway.

Alloway is currently considered the nation's No. 1 all-purpose running back by 247Sports' composite rankings and is a high four-star prospect that's hovering around one of the top 100 in the country. Before you panic about the state of Wisconsin running back commit Antonio Williams, note this is a situation that looks like it's much closer to A.J. Taylor's than Williams' for the Badgers.

Alloway has explosive athleticism with a fluid shiftiness and an ability to pull away from defenders in a footrace. If you look at his offer sheet, it appears the Badgers got in surprisingly early for Alloway. Obviously, pulling a California prospect who has UCLA and Cal as his two favorites is far from a slam dunk, but this is a real good prospect and the Badgers struck early. It's definitely going to be worth watching.
