The Theinsville, Wisconsin native is the first 2015 defensive prospect to profess his commitment to UW.

And to think that I assumed things were going to calm down.

Because there's a late-night surprise for the recruiting watchers as Theinsville, Wisconsin, prospect David Pfaff received his offer from the Badgers Tuesday and Pfaff committed quickly.  Pfaff, a 6'3, 252-pound defensive lineman for Mequon Homestead is expected to bulk up and play defensive end when he comes to Madison, as he's a defensive tackle for his high school program. He received offers from Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Syracuse and Wake Forest, among others.

He also received interest from Illinois, Missouri, Michigan State and Ole Miss, but when the Badgers came around with an offer, Pfaff wrapped up his recruiting quickly.

"Today I was offered a full ride scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and committed," he said. "I can't explain my emotions right now."

Ultimately, Pfaff's position on the Badgers is yet to be decided. There will be more defensive linemen to commit beyond him, but at the very least he's a local kid with a good motor. As we've come to see, you can never can have enough of those lying around.
