Derrick Tindal is a former Indiana commit who flipped to Wisconsin in late January, giving the Badgers promising young depth in a secondary that remains a persistent question mark. He's a smaller corner, but he's physical and fits nicely with the other defensive backs Gary Andersen's brought to Madison. Alongside D'Cota Dixon, Tindal will be a vital part of Wisconsin's secondary, and probably not before long.
247 Sports thinks he could even see the field early:
Wisconsin was fortunate to land the three-star cornerback. After evaluating him in the off-season, the Badgers opted to pass on Tindal. He was luckily still available late in the cycle. Although he had just committed to Indiana, Wisconsin still put in an offer and late flipped Tindal. The coaching staff feels that Tindal will come in good enough to compete for playing time as a true freshman, and perhaps play a similar role to that of Jakarrie Washington in 2013.
Tindal was the seventh recruit Wisconsin flipped into becoming a Badger. He was scheduled to visit TCU and N.C. State before National Signing Day, and also had offers from Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and UCF. Tindal originally committed to Indiana on Jan. 7, but received his Wisconsin offer and visited Madison about a week later.
