The last potential piece of Wisconsin's 2014 recruiting class has made his decision, and unfortunately, it does not fall for the Badgers.
Plantation, Fla., cornerback Chris Lammons was what some recruit watchers considered the most important piece of the Badger puzzle in the final run-up to National Signing Day. Since Lammons decommited from Florida, it was always going to be a two-team race between the Badgers and the South Carolina Gamecocks, and moments ago, he made his decision to sign with South Carolina.
The Badgers seemed to have momentum going into Wednesday, with some Florida area recruiting writers and SB Nation's own Bud Elliott thinking he was going to sign on the dotted line to come to Wisconsin. But ultimately, it was the lure of playing in the SEC that kept him down south.
Lammons also had offers from Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State and West Virginia, among others.
