Wisconsin must continue to pursue other quarterback options after four-star recruit DeShone Kizer committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday.

The offseason recruiting frenzy has cooled off dramatically, and head football coach Gary Andersen and his staff have completed most of their recruiting visits. That currently leaves us in the lull between all of the spring visits/scholarship offers and the time when many recruits begin to visit Madison.

The Badgers also added a preferred walk-on in kicker Andrew Endicott, who marks the first recruit landed by special teams coordinator Jeff Genyk at UW.

Elsewhere, D'Vonta Derricott named Wisconsin his leader with Baylor, Minnesota, South Florida and West Virginia rounding out his top five. "Wisconsin has a lead," Derricott told Badger247. "I think I'm almost in a position to commit there. Probably sometime before the season starts."

Some sour news for UW: after it appeared the Badgers may have reentered the mix for four-star quarterback DeShone Kizer, he verbally committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday. Expect UW to continue pursuing other options at quarterback.

Basketball Overview

We haven't yet discussed UW basketball in this weekly recruiting roundup, but the program held camps primarily for 2015 recruits this past Saturday and Sunday, and two of those recruits left Madison with scholarship offers.
