Wisconsin fans looking for a chance at revenge for Thursday night’s crushing loss to Texas will get their dream come true thanks to a huge showcase for volleyball in Milwaukee next year.

The Fiserv Forum, with the help of Intersport and FOX, will be hosting a early season showcase event from Sept. 1 to 2 next season that will feature match-ups with the Wisconsin Badgers, Texas Longhorns, Stanford Cardinal and Minnesota Golden Gophers.

On Sept. 1, Wisconsin will play Texas — in what is sure to be an incredibly anticipated match-up — while Minnesota will take on Stanford. The next day, UW will take on the Cardinal while the Gophers will play the Longhorns.

So far, no official announcements have been made about where the match will be broadcast, but FOX aired the first women’s college volleyball on network television this season for the Oct. 29 match between Wisconsin and Minnesota. Hopefully, we’ll get even more matches on Fox

Head coach Kelly Sheffield, in a statement, seems pretty fired up about the matchups.

“This is going to be an awesome event,” Wisconsin head coach Kelly Sheffield said. “Big-time teams on a big-time stage. The 2024 volleyball season is going to be shot out of a cannon!”

The Badgers will return to Fiserv Forum for the second time, as their first match was a 3-1 win over Marquette on Sept. 13. That historic match was played in front of 17,037 fans, setting the indoor volleyball attendance record.

The four programs participating in this showcase have established themselves as the class of women’s volleyball over the years, combining for 13 national championships, 17 runner-up finishes and 48 Final Four appearances. The teams have combined to win four of the last five national championships and at least one of the four programs has appeared in the Final Four annually since 2012.

Additional details regarding the inaugural event, including sponsors, match times, ticket information and more will be available at a later date. Fans interested in receiving email alerts regarding these updates can register at
