The No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers saw their 10-game winning streak snapped in a 3-3 tie on Saturday against the Lindenwood Lions, moving their record to 19-4-1 on the season.

In the game, the Badgers started off the game with a Cruz Lucius goal five minutes in, but the Lions tied it up just two minutes later with a score from Patrick Schmiedlin, leaving the two sides even after the first period.

Lindenwood then took a 2-1 lead in the second period with a goal from Caige Sterzer, leaving the Badgers scrambling for a score over the final 20 minutes.

That goal did come via the stick of Owen Lindmark, who evened things up seven minutes into the period before scoring his second of the match with six minutes left, providing Wisconsin with a 3-2 lead.

However, as their first lead didn’t last long, this one didn’t either, as Lindenwood bounced back just a minute later with a goal from Coltan Wilkie, leaving the score at 3-3, which didn’t change for the final five minutes of regulation.

In overtime, Wisconsin had two shots on goal during the five-minute period, but neither team scored, leading to a shootout, where freshman goalie William Gramme made two saves, while Quinn Finley and Cruz Lucius scored to give the Badgers the edge.

The Badgers finished the game with a 54-24 shot advantage, but the Lions battled through to the end to tie the score through 65 minutes.
