For the second straight week and third time this season, sophomore goalie Ann-Renée Desbiens was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week. This week, she shares the honor with Minnesota-Duluth goalie Kayla Black.

Desbiens won the award on the back of her third and fourth consecutive shutouts, giving her six on the season and tying her for third in the country and first in the WCHA.

She stopped 32 shots in the Badgers' weekend series in New Hampshire, backstopping the Wisconsin to a pair of 5-0 wins over the Wildcats.

Desbiens' staunch goaltending has helped the Badgers set a new school record, as they have not allowed a goal in 330 minutes, 56 seconds.

She's racked up a 12-2-1 record this season, giving her a .833 win percentage, fifth in the country. She has a goals-against average of 1.32, best in the WCHA and sixth nationally.

The Badgers take on conference foe North Dakota at LaBahn Arena this weekend. Games are 3 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
