Wisconsin unveiled its Hockey City Classic jersey in early January, and Minnesota did the same Tuesday night.

As the home team, the Badgers will wear white sweaters that are reproductions of those worn by UW's 1931-32 team. The Gophers will be in away maroon, which is a tribute to their 1960-61 era jersey.

Inside the collar of the Wisconsin uniforms are the words, "It's a great day for hockey." Hemmed into the bottom of each is the date of the game and the teams participating, along with the logo featured outside of Soldier Field.

The OfficeMax Hockey City Classic marks the third time in eight seasons that the Wisconsin hockey program will play one of its games outdoors. The Badgers defeated Michigan, 3-2, at the Culver’s Camp Randall Hockey Classic in 2010 and beat Ohio State, 4-2, in the Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic at Lambeau Field in 2006.

This event features two matchups, with Notre Dame taking on Miami (Ohio) at 12 p.m. CT, followed by Minnesota and Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. CT.

The four teams competing in the Hockey City Classic have a combined 36 Frozen Four appearances and 11 National Championship titles. Each year since 2008, at least one Hockey City Classic participant has made an appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four, including most recently Minnesota in 2012, Notre Dame in 2011 and both Wisconsin and Miami in 2010. The Hockey City Classic will be the first outdoor game in the modern era for three of the four participants in Miami, Minnesota and Notre Dame.
