Wisconsin sophomore Nic Kerdiles has been honored as the Big Ten's First Star of the week for his play last weekend in a sweep over Penn State.

A sophomore center, Kerdiles notched a goal and an assist in Friday's 7-1 win. In the finale on Saturday, the Irvine, Calif., native scored the game-winning goal in the third period in addition to an assist he registered earlier in the game.

The Third Star of the week went to Minnesota's Justin Kloos. The freshman center registered a goal and an assist Friday vs. Michigan State, as well as an assist in a 3-2 win Saturday.
