Second period updates...
--Early in the period LaBate uses his big body to go hard to the net to create a chance. Nice to see John Ramage jump up in the line rush as well.
--13:13-Good shift out of Wisconsin's 4th line as Brendan Woods draws a penalty. Good job by Brad Navin cutting to the net with the puck creating a chance.
--No shots on the PP. Obviously not acceptable.
--10:10-Rumpel with two back-to-back kick saves on Miami shots. He's been sharp all night.
--4:00-The Zengerle line can't seem to put any points on the board lately, but this was a very nice shift as they cycled the puck in the offensive zone and sustained pressure. Need much more of this.
Additional thoughts...
--Kevin Schulze is such a phenomenal skater it's fun to watch. He's going to be a really good player for Wisconsin going forward.
--Really nice to see John Ramage jumping up in the offensive play. He seems to be playing with a lot of confidence after his big weekend vs Mankato.
--Some really nice late shifts by Wisconsin in the later part of the period.
--Again, really nice pace in that period from both squads.
--Wisconsin needs to get more pucks to the net and more bodies to the net. Not just long range shots, get creative, drive to the net, find guys crashing, crate rebounds, and bury the loose pucks.
