NHL Central Scouting released their mid-term rankings Tuesday morning, and the list includes on future Badger. Of course I'm talking about Grant Besse, a 2013 Wisconsin recruit from Benilde-St. Margaret's high school in Minnesota.

Besse is ranked as the #124th North American skater, which means he's likely a late round pick, if he's selected at all. The NHL Draft currently only holds seven rounds. This years draft will be held on June 30th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

A left-handed right-wing, Besse is one of the most prolific scorers in Minnesota high school hockey history. Through 14 games this season, Besse has notched 25 goals and 12 assists for 37 points. For his career, the five-foot-ten, 185-pound Besse has netted 121 goals and 85 assists for 206 points in 89 games.

No stranger to big games, Besse set a Minnesota high school state championship game record when he scored all five of his teams goals in a 5-1 victory last spring in the AA title game over Hill-Murray.

Number one on the mid-term ranking is Portland Winterhawks defenseman Seth Jones. Of course, Jones was one of the many stars on Team USA at the recent World Junior Championships.
