The No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers extended their winning streak to five games on Wednesday, defeating the Ohio State Buckeyes 71-60 in a defensive showdown, improving to 12-3 on the season.

It was a tight battle from the get-go, as both teams didn’t allow the other to go on a major run, with the score being 35-33 in the Badgers’ favor at halftime.

Offensively, the Badgers were very efficient, scoring 1.246 points per possession, but it was a slower-paced game, hence the 71 points.

Defensively, Wisconsin let up only 60 total points, as they held guards Bruce Thornton and Roddy Gayle Jr. to a combined 10/30 shooting, while Max Klesmit held top scorer Jamison Battle to just four points on five shots in the second half after the forward dropped 14 in the first 30 minutes.

Following the game, Badgers insider Rohan Chakravarthi shared his instant reaction to the Badgers’ 71-60 win over Ohio State, pointing out the major takeaways for the team moving forward.

Next up, the Badgers will return home for a matchup against the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday as they look to remain undefeated in conference play.
