Badgers ranked at No. 23 in latest AP Poll

The Badgers are ranked for the first time this season.

Fresh off a 75-64 upset victory over the Marquette Golden Eagles, the Wisconsin Badgers have cracked the AP Top 25, coming in at No. 23 in the latest poll.

It’s been a whirlwind start for the Badgers, as they were initially just outside the Top 25, but suffered losses to Tennessee and Providence.

However, after their latest four game win streak, including one over Marquette, the Badgers have cracked the rankings once again.

Wisconsin is one of three Big Ten teams in the AP Top 25, joining the No. 4 Purdue Boilermakers and the No. 20 Illinois Fighting Illini. Ohio State and Northwestern were named as honorable mentions.

The Badgers face a tough stretch, however, over their next two games, as they’ll travel on Tuesday to see the 4-3 Michigan State Spartans before a matchup with top-ranked Arizona.

In addition to being ranked at No. 23 in the AP Top 25, the Badgers were listed at No. 26 in the first NET rankings of the season.
