The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the No. 3 Marquette Golden Eagles 75-64 on Saturday, marking their biggest victory of the season and the seventh win against a top-five team in the Greg Gard era.

It was a controlling performance for the Badgers, who never trailed in the game and held as big as a 16-point lead, thanks to 21 points from Max Klesmit in the first half.

But, Marquette cut the deficit in the second half and remained competitive with a 12-0 run.

Ultimately, it wasn’t enough to stop the Badgers, who got to the free throw line 28 times in a collective effort to knock off the Golden Eagles and win their third straight matchup in the rivalry.

Following the game, Badgers insider Rohan Chakravarthi shared his instant reaction to the Badgers’ 75-64 win over Marquette, pointing out the major takeaways for the team moving forward.

Next up, the Badgers continue their tough stretch on the road, as they’ll face Michigan State on Tuesday before going to Arizona for a matchup with the No. 2 Wildcats on Saturday.
