The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Western Illinois Leathernecks 71-49 on Monday at the Kohl Center, recording their third consecutive win after sweeping the competition at the Fort Myers Classic last week.

It was an ultra-efficient performance from the Badgers, who shot over 53 percent from the field and averaged 1.348 points per possession on the night.

As for the defense, the Badgers have slowly rounded into form over the past three games, showing glimpses of their strong defense from a season ago.

Four of the five starters hit double figures in the 22-point victory for Wisconsin, as Chucky Hepburn, A.J. Storr, Tyler Wahl, and Steven Crowl all had their respective moments in the win.

Following the game, Badgers insider Rohan Chakravarthi shared his instant reaction to the Badgers’ 71-49 win over Western Illinois, pointing out the major takeaways for the team moving forward.

Next up, the Badgers have their toughest three-game stretch to date, as Wisconsin will host the No. 3 Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday before traveling to face the Michigan Spartans and the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats next week.
