Losing five of your last six games stinks, but would you believe it takes you from talk of a No. 1 NCAA tournament seed to unranked in the polls? That's the situation Wisconsin now finds itself in, as the AP Top 25 released Monday is devoid of any mention of the Badgers.
Those losses -- the most recent coming Saturday vs. Ohio State -- are obviously crushing for poll standing, but forget that. Suddenly, we're left wondering how UW can't play defense anymore, how Traevon Jackson is still a starting point guard and why the late-game offense is so awful. Those are just a few questions, of course.
In the AP poll, Wisconsin is first under "Others Receiving Votes" with 79. Big Ten teams actually ranked include Michigan State (ninth), Michigan (10th) and Iowa (17th). Ohio State is also right behind Wisconsin with 45 votes.
