Preseason AP Top 25: Wisconsin ranked No. 20

The Badgers will begin the season with the lowest AP ranking among the four Big Ten schools in the top 25.

Jamie Squire

The AP Top 25 holds little significance in college basketball, but particularly at the beginning of the season it can provide an opportunity for evaluating the upper echelon of the sport's landscape. The Wisconsin Badgers begin the 2013-14 season ranked No. 20, the lowest of the four Big Ten schools in the top 25.

Kentucky is No. 1 overall, followed by Michigan State at No. 2. Other Big Ten teams include Michigan (No. 7) and Ohio State (No. 11). Other teams of note for Wisconsin are Florida (No. 10), who the Badgers will face in their home opener Nov. 12, in-state rival Marquette (No. 17) and Virginia (No. 24), who UW will play in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Dec. 4.
