Former Badgers starting WR transfers to UConn

All three of the Badgers top receivers from 2022 have transferred out one year later.

The Wisconsin Badgers finished the 2022 season with Chimere Dike, Skyler Bell, and Keontez Lewis as their top three receivers.

One year later, all three have transferred out, and Bell recently found a new home, committing to the UConn Huskies.

Bell, a three-star recruit in the Class of 2021, moves closer to home, as he’s originally from the Bronx, while playing high school ball at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut.

Working as a slot receiver in 2023, Bell caught 38 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown, primarily seeing action behind top wideout Will Pauling.

That came after a 2022 season where Bell caught 30 passes for 444 yards and five touchdowns under former head coach Paul Chryst, while primarily working as an outside receiver.

Now moving to UConn, Bell joins a 3-9 Huskies team that was led by tight end Justin Joly last year. It appears that Bell will replace graduate student Brett Buckman at receiver, who was third on the team last season with 46 catches for 488 yards and two touchdowns.

Bell joins Chimere Dike and Markus Allen as transfer wideouts who have found a new home for 2023. Dike is headed to Florida, while Allen will play at Butler Community College.
