The Wisconsin Badgers are still searching for a cornerback in the transfer portal, as they offered Albany defensive back BJ Mayes on Thursday.
Mayes, a rising redshirt junior, will have two years of eligibility remaining, and is moving on as a graduate transfer.
A former transfer from Incarnate Word, Mayes recorded 42 tackles and two interceptions in 2023.
Several teams have jumped in the mix for Mayes, who has received interest from schools like Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Illinois since entering the transfer portal.
After earning an offer from Kentucky, Mayes quickly set up a visit this week, and is currently at Arkansas on another visit.
The Badgers have actively searched for a cornerback this offseason, most recently hosting New Mexico State transfer Andre Seldon Jr. on an official visit this past week.
Most of Wisconsin’s former offers at the position in the transfer portal have committed elsewhere this offseason, leaving the Badgers still vying to add veteran depth at the position.
