The Wisconsin Badgers have found their next offensive line coach, as they’re set to hire Vanderbilt offensive line coach AJ Blezak for the same role, according to FootballScoop.
Blezak will replace former offensive line coach Jack Bicknell, who was “re-assigned” to a different role in the organization last week.
The former All-Big Ten center will be Wisconsin’s fourth coach at the position over the last four seasons, who are looking for stability at one of their most consistent positions previously.
Blazek began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2002 after playing for them, where he earned All-Big Ten honors.
Spending three seasons at Iowa in that role, Blazek then coached at Fort Hays State (2005-2008), Winona State (2009-2012), Western Illinois (2013-2015), Rutgers (2016-2018), and North Dakota State (2019-2020) before settling into his role at Vanderbilt in February 2021.
At Wisconsin, Blazek will take over an offensive line unit that returns starters Jack Nelson, Joe Huber, and Riley Mahlman, while Joe Brunner and Jake Renfro are expected to fill out the starting five.
