The Wisconsin Badgers are hosting Miami Hurricanes transfer quarterback Tyler Van Dyke on a visit this weekend, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Saturday.

Van Dyke, a graduate transfer who spent the last four seasons with Miami, is moving on after throwing for 7,478 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions over his career.

The quarterback had a strong 2021 season, tossing for 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns, and six interceptions at a 62.9 percent completion rate in 10 games, but injuries and a new offensive coordinator in each of the last two seasons derailed his production.

Van Dyke has the ability to extend plays with his legs, similar to Wisconsin’s 2023 quarterback, Tanner Mordecai, and has average to above-average arm strength, with his lone knock being turnovers.

The Badgers have been linked to several quarterbacks in the transfer portal, including the likes of Washington State’s Cam Ward, Kansas State’s Will Howard, and Toledo’s DeQuan Finn, but Van Dyke is their first visitor of the bunch at the position.
