Wisconsin Badgers offensive lineman Trey Wedig is entering the transfer portal, according to reports.
Wedig, a 6’7, 315-pound offensive lineman, had been a rotational piece for the Badgers this past season, earning time at both guard spots, while also working as the second-team right tackle.
A redshirt junior, Wedig’s versatility was coveted by the Badgers, who had initially planned to play up to eight offensive lineman in their rotation this season, but settled on six, with Wedig rotating alongside Michael Furtney and Joe Huber.
However, starting in Week 8 against the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Badgers moved forward with just their five starters, leaving Wedig on the bench as a reserve for the remainder of the season.
In 2022, Wedig saw action as well, making eight starts, with five coming at right tackle, two at right guard, and one at left guard.
A four-star in-state recruit in the Class of 2020, Wedig moves on with two years of eligibility remaining.
