In a shocking turn of events, Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery has reportedly de-committed from the Wisconsin Badgers, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Lowery and his agents retweeted On3’s post, confirming the news, which comes less than 24 hours after the outside linebacker announced his commitment to Wisconsin.

The outside linebacker recorded 46 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 7.5 tackles for loss with Syracuse in 2023, including two sacks against Clemson and four pressures versus North Carolina in back-to-back weeks.

The Badgers quickly swept in and got involved with the transfer after he joined the transfer portal, bringing him on an official visit this weekend before sealing the deal Sunday.

According to 247Sports’s Evan Flood, Lowery has not informed the Badgers about his decision to de-commit yet, but the news has started to break, with the outside linebacker and his camp seemingly confirming it.

Lowery’s agent refuted the report, and the outside linebacker shared a cryptic message on X moments after the news broke.

While it’s currently unclear what the exact reasons were behind Lowery’s de-commitment, NIL could be a factor in play in the decision.
