The Wisconsin Badgers continued their trend of offering defensive linemen in the transfer portal on Sunday when extending the courtesy to Albany defensive tackle Elijah Hills.

At 6’2, 281 pounds, Hills recorded 31 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 2023. That came after a 2022 season where the defensive tackle had 28 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and four sacks.

Hills, a junior, has one year of eligibility remaining, as well as his redshirt season.

Since entering the transfer portal, Hills has picked up a plethora of offers from D-1 schools, including Tulane, Western Kentucky, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Houston, Western Virginia, and Ball State.

The Badgers have been active in the transfer portal at defensive line, showing interest in several players, ranging from emerging FCS talent to some unproven D-1 players.

However, they’ve yet to land anyone at the position in the portal yet, and could still be looking for depth, especially after losing Darian Varner and Rodas Johnson to the transfer portal, and potentially Gio Paez as well, who could return for a sixth season, but it doesn’t seem likely.
