#Badgers WR coach Mike Brown expected to join Notre Dame under the same role, per source. @247Sports had it first.— Bucky’s 5th Quarter (@B5Q) December 4, 2023
Brown was on the short list for ND after firing Chansi Stuckey. Heard he would be open to a change of scenery and he gets it.
Tough blow for UW.
Brown had been on head coach Luke Fickell’s staff since 2019, dating back to their time at Cincinnati, but there had been rumblings about a potential change over the past week after Notre Dame fired wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey.
The Fighting Irish didn’t wait to make their next move, as they quickly moved to hire Brown, who will re-join former Cincinnati Bearcats offensive coordinator Gino Guidigli, who is the quarterbacks coach at Notre Dame.
Brown and Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman overlapped at Cincinnati under head coach Luke Fickell before the latter was hired by the Fighting Irish in 2021, and they’ll now re-unite in South Bend.
Brown’s first year at Wisconsin came with ups and downs, as the wide receivers coach oversaw a group that faced significant drop issues and a ton of turnover from the year before.
However, Brown also oversaw a strong season from top wideout Will Pauling, who broke on the scene with 66 catches for 694 yards and four touchdowns in his first year as a starter.
Brown was an integral piece in the commitment of 2024 four-star wideout Kyan Berry-Johnson, who is the lone scholarship receiver that Wisconsin currently has in their 2024 class.
