Update: The Badgers are confirmed to be playing LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

The Wisconsin Badgers are set to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 1st, 2024, the bowl announced on Sunday.

The Badgers, standing at 7-5 this season, were seen as the top Big Ten team not named to the College Football Playoff or the New Years Six Bowl games, beating out fellow 7-5 teams, such as Northwestern and Maryland, for the second-best non-New-Years-Six bowl game behind the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, which Iowa will participate in.

Wisconsin’s opponent has not been announced, but they are likely to face the LSU Tigers, as the Tennessee Volunteers are headed to the Citrus Bowl.

DraftKings Sportsbook has Wisconsin as 10-point underdogs, with the over/under set at 55.

It’s an improvement for the Badgers, who were initially expected to play in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 30th.

The Badgers benefitted from Championship weekend, as the Ohio State Buckeyes were bumped out of the Orange Bowl since Florida State and Georgia were ranked higher, moving the Columbus team to a different New Years Six Bowl.

Since the Big Ten didn’t have a representative in the Orange Bowl, they were given a spot in the ReliaQuest Bowl, formerly known as the Outback Bowl, and Wisconsin earned a berth there.

Confirmed: The Badgers will now play against the LSU Tigers in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 1st, 2024, with kickoff slated for 11:00 A.M. CT.
