It’ll be a challenge for the Badgers against a talented team who will be without star quarterback Jayden Daniels, as he opted out to pursue his NFL Draft aspirations.
However, the Badgers will also have several changes themselves, as a plethora of players have transferred out already, while others have opted out of the bowl game.
With that said, here’s the Badgers updated depth chart for the bowl game against LSU.
Looking at some quick takeaways, Jackson Acker takes over the top running back spot with Cade Yacamelli, as Braelon Allen opted out of the bowl game and will not play.
Vinny Anthony takes over the starting spot opposite Bryson Green as Chimere Dike transferred out, while true freshman Trech Kekahuna is listed as the second-team slot receiver behind Will Pauling.
With Tanor Bortolini opting out of the bowl game, Jake Renfro is resuming the starting duties at center, the role he was expected to have to begin the season prior to his injuries.
Defensively, Curt Neal slides into the first-team defense with Rodas Johnson transferring out, with Isaac Townsend serving as the second-team defensive end.
At inside linebacker, with Jordan Turner transferring, Maema Njongmeta slides back into the first-team role, while Christian Alliegro makes the two-deep as the backup.
With Jason Maitre opting out, the Badgers have listed Austin Brown as their top nickelback with Owen Arnett in as the second-teamer.
Lastly, with Dike gone, Vinny Anthony is the first-team kick and punt returner, while Trech Kekahuna makes an appearance as the second-teamer as well.
