Badgers starting OL officially declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

The Badgers are losing one of their starting offensive linemen to the NFL Draft.

The Wisconsin Badgers are officially losing a starting offensive linemen, as starting center Tanor Bortolini announced his intentions to enter the 2024 NFL Draft on Wednesday.

Bortolini, a redshirt junior, will forego his final year of eligibility, instead focusing on the NFL Draft. It is currently unclear whether he will play in the bowl game later this month.

A multi-year starter at Wisconsin, Bortolini is most touted for his versatility, as he has played at four different spots along the offensive line during his collegiate career, while earning starts at both guard positions and at center.

Bortolini’s intentions were hinted at on Tuesday when the Senior Bowl announced that the redshirt junior was accepting an invitation to play in Mobile as a part of the pre-draft process.

While the 6’4, 315-pound lineman struggled with snaps at times during the 2023 season, Bortolini was seen as an underrated blocker, and will now have the opportunity to showcase those talents prior to the 2024 NFL Draft.

Bortolini best projects as an interior offensive lineman at the next level.
