Wisconsin Badgers starting linebacker Jordan Turner is entering the transfer portal, he announced on Wednesday.

Turner, a redshirt junior from Farmington, Michigan, had been a starter at linebacker for the past two seasons.
In 2023, Turner recorded 61 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks, which was similar to his 2022 season, where he recorded 68 tackles, including 5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.
Of the major transfer portal news, this one was a move I had been expecting this offseason, as it became clear throughout the year that Turner wouldn’t be the best fit for Mike Tressel’s defense, especially when seeing the difference in his and true freshman Christian Alliegro’s play style.
With Turner in the portal, the Badgers are now losing two of their top three linebackers from a season ago, as Maema Njongmeta will not return for a sixth and final season, although the redshirt senior hadn’t been a great fit for the defense either.
