Bortolini, a redshirt junior, started at center this season after seeing action at left guard and right guard last year.
A 6’4, 315-pound offensive lineman, Bortolini is an above-average blocker and displays impressive mobility on the field, while playing with a high motor, but arm length could be a deciding factor in where he plays at the next level.
While Bortolini struggled with snaps at several points this season, his blocking was an underrated aspect of his game, and he’ll get the ability to showcase those talents at the Senior Bowl this offseason.
With Bortolini accepting an invitation to go to the Senior Bowl, it provides an indication of what he’ll do in 2024, as it seems likelier that the Badgers standout offensive lineman will enter the 2024 NFL Draft, leaving Wisconsin with another hole to fill on their front five.
Wisconsin will need to replace at least one starter on the offensive line in 2024, as sixth-year senior right guard Michael Furtney is out of eligibility, and will likely need to see replacements for another, should Bortolini enter the draft.
