After hosting him, among other recruits, on a visit this weekend, the Wisconsin Badgers extended an offer to FCS All-American transfer linebacker John Pius on Saturday, he announced via X.

A redshirt junior, Pius recorded 9.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss for William & Mary this past season, which came after a 2022 year where the outside linebacker had 11.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss.
A native of Arlington, Virginia, Pius entered the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining, and has publicly revealed six offers since, including Wisconsin’s.
The Badgers have looked to add key depth at outside linebacker this offseason, first going after Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery and now focusing on Pius after getting a commitment from the former.
Last season, the position was an issue, as the Badgers got just 8.5 sacks of production from their starters at outside linebacker. Additionally, they’re set to lose C.J. Goetz, leaving them in need of additional depth.
Now, they’re looking to bridge the gap, both in the short and long-term, and Pius could be the next answer.
