Joel Stave injury: Badgers QB leaves Michigan State game after hurting non-throwing arm

On the first series of the 3rd quarter of Wisconsin's game against Michigan State, Badgers starting quarterback Joel Stave went down hard on a hit from Michigan State Spartans defensive lineman William Gholston. He came down very heavily on his non-throwing arm and was forced to leave the game. Stave was unable to move his left arm, and walked directly down the tunnel following his removal from the game.

The injury was to Stave's left shoulder and required further examination in the locker room. Danny O'Brien has entered the game, and Wisconsin's offense has stalled since. At the end of the 3rd quarter, he's 3-4 passing for 29 yards, but also lost 11 yards on a rush. James White and Montee Ball haven't gone anywhere since Stave's exit, due to Michigan State's lack of respect for the Badgers' passing game.

At the time of his injury, Stave was 9-11 passing for 127 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. It had been arguably the best performance of his career up until that point. He has been declared out for the rest of the game.
