Top prep players from Minnesota are no secret nationally these days and Holloman had early offers from Minnesota, Texas and Baylor in addition to Wisconsin. He played his first high school season for Minneapolis North as an 7th grader, but switched to Cretin Durham Hall prior to 9th grade. His mother is a former Gopher basketball and doubles as the girls basketball coach as CDH. Holloman is a prolific setup man, dishing out 10 or more assists on 11 different occasions as a frosh. Considering his athletic ability, he was destined to be a national recruit.
Holloman has already taken part in two separate Team USA Junior National Team camps, both coming after his freshman season. He continued to play up a level with Howard Pulley on the AAU circuit. Holloman’s most recent offers included Michigan State, Marquette, Nebraska, and Iowa. Always projecting some Spartan point guard qualities, Holloman committed to Tom Izzo following his junior year.
