Verbally committed to Oregon

Wisconsin was in early on Pritchard, as Oregon State was the only other high major to offer at the time. He visited Madison in January of 2014 and also visited Notre Dame. Soon after, Pritchard picked up offers from Oregon, Washington, Arizona State, and Oklahoma (where his father played football). Most recently, Pritchard added offers from UCLA, Iowa, Villanova, Indiana and Butler. Virginia and Stanford are also showing interest.

Pritchard participated in the Team USA Developmental Team tryouts in the fall of 2012 and was added to the squad last spring. He plays for a great high school squad in the Portland area, and has helped lead West Linn to back-to-back state titles in the largest division. Not a bad start to his young career.

With the recent scandal at Oregon, the Ducks may not have looked as enticing as they normally would. Pritchard said he would love to stay home to play college ball, but was "looking for the best fit." And with his original verbal he did stay home in one sense. Despite paying his own way for several unofficial visits to Villanova and Wisconsin, Pritchard end his recruitment shortly after visiting Oklahoma, where his father and mother both attended and his sister now lives. But eight months later, right after Bo Ryan's retirement announcement, Pritchard was back on the market. It was only a matter of time before he verballed to the surging local Ducks.
