Coming out of the pandemic, college coaches are getting a look at Owen Freeman up close and liking what they see. Freeman has become a hot name this summer, starting with offers from Illinois, Iowa and Wake Forest. Every stop since then has brought a new offer: Butler, Purdue, Ohio State, Marquette, Northwestern and now Wisconsin. Next up is Michigan State.

Freeman appears to be a fluid athlete for his size who likes to finish with authority and protect the rim. He’ll have to polish his outside shooting, but there is a lot to like eyeing the future. He would be an interesting pairing with Gus Yalden up front in this smaller 2023 class for the Badgers. Freeman plays with the MidPro Academy squad on the travel circuit, a mashup of the Illinois Irish and Quad City Elite clubs. The latter produced Ethan Happ for UW.
