Kyle Washington pulls the trigger (TheWolfpacker.com)

Washington's recruitment has blown up since moving out east for prep school. His first offer was from Drake, but he soon added offers from Penn State, Iowa State, Marquette, Minnesota and Wisconsin during the summer. After playing well in July, Wake Forest and Arizona were among the bigger programs who began to show interest in Washington. Baylor, Florida, Louisville, Miami, Washington and West Virginia have now stepped foward with offers. Washington visited Wisconsin at the end of August, and planned trips to Penn State, Iowa State and Xavier among others.

Because of his reclassification to get his grades in order, Washington was too old to play AAU ball the summer after his fourth high school season. But he kept himself busy at various NBA development camps in the summer months. Washington impressed top scouts at the LeBron James Skills Academy in early July, earning some new big-time looks thanks to his effort. It appeared Washington would be a tough catch for UW, even if the Badgers were in a position to be one of Washington's finalists in the end. Wisconsin made the cut to 11 schools, but not a recent cut to the final seven. Washington will transfer to prep school power Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH, for a post-grad year.
