Blackwell is part of a loaded Brother Rice program in the Detroit suburbs who also plays with two of his acclaimed teammates for The Family on the Nike EYBL circuit. He’ll need to improve his ballhandling to be viewed as a true lead guard in the future. Blackwell holds a VCU offer in addition to a handful of MAC and Horizon League offers at the moment, but has been in touch with both Michigan and Michigan State. He received his offer form Wisconsin during an official visit on the weekend of the Eastern Michigan football game.
