Verbally committed to Yale
While Kelly was hampered by an ankle injury at UW's recent advanced camp, he stayed in Madison for an unofficial visit and wound up the surprise recipient of the staff's first post-camp scholarship offer. His Wisconsin connection is through Diamond Stone's former AAU coach of all people.
Obviously still a bit raw, Kelly appears more crafty than athletic and already a good passer. I don't foresee any problem getting his frame ready for the next level though.
Kelly had a pretty good run in the spring at the Under Armour AAU circuit with Atlanta XPress 15U after a dominant freshman year in Augusta. He also attended the Pangos All-American Camp. He will transfer to Atlanta's Pace Academy for his sophomore season ($). Lamont Paris is his lead recruiter. While he's high on Wisconsin now, Kelly is getting interest from Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Marquette, Maryland, South Carolina, UCLA and others. Kelly had an early offer from Xavier as well.
