Verbal commitment Verbally committed to Virginia

Very tall perimeter players seemed to be the targets du jour for Greg Gard during lockdown, as Wisconsin offered Braden Huff and then Isaac Traudt in succession, in addition to an outstanding offer to Cam Heide. The staff had been tracking Traudt for a bit prior to the scholarship offer though. The Badgers were the first to contact Traudt on June 15th, when it became permissible to reach out to juniors, then assistant Joe Krabbenhoft spoke with him on the phone. The 6’8” shooter plays travel ball with the Lincoln Supreme squad that had recently visited Wisconsin for an event. Grand Island is an outpost off I-80 about an hour-and-a-half west of Lincoln.

Traudt has decent handles to go with his size, plus a quick release that helps him get his shot off even while well-defended. His offer list initially included Wisconsin, Stanford, Iowa State, Creighton, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Drake among others, but has expanded to include Georgetown, Iowa, Louisville, Marquette, Mississippi, Missouri, Notre Dame Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Purdue in addition to offers from Virginia and Kansas in January. Traudt has additional eyes from blue bloods on him now as well, so he’ll be writing his own ticket.

Offered on July 21, 2020
