Hutton, known as an elite defender, transferred from Chicago basketball powerhouse Simeon prior to his sophomore season. Bo Ryan and the staff made some comparisons between Hutton and former Badger great Alando Tucker while talking with the athletic tweener. West Virginia was the second major conference school to offer, the weekend after Wisconsin, after starting out with local offers from Loyola, UIC and Illinois State.
