About damn time! A hops museum is coming to Madison's east side, on E. Washington Ave. It opens Saturday with a "Madison Barrel & Brewing History" meet-and-greet from 1 to 3 p.m. The grand opening celebration will run from 12:30 to 11 p.m. With a $25 annual membership fee, members can rent out space in the museum for private events -- awesome stuff for homebrewers. Donations from New Glarus, MobCraft, Next Door, Vintage and Wisconsin Brewing, among others, helped get the museum going. Best of all? The Museum has a mascot named "Hoppy."
Brett Favre is coming to Camp Randall Stadium. On July 19, one day after Favre is inducted into the Packers' Hall of Fame, the 11-time Pro Bowler will take part in an "all-star" flag football game at the Wisconsin Badgers' home in Madison. More details will be announced later this month, ESPN reports, but you can at least save the date. ESPN's Rob Demovsky has the full details, including thoughts on why this flag football game won't be played at Lambeau Field. Reminder: Wisconsin will play at Lambeau Field in September 2016 as round two of its neutral-site series with LSU.
Thank you to @BadgerFootball, which unearthed this flawless clip of Chris Farley reprising the Matt Foley character from Saturday Night Live. Raise your hand if you will protest if this isn't part of the next Camp Randall scoreboard intro next season.
Apropos of nothing, my buddy social media'd this flyer promoting former Badger basketball star (?) Zach Bohannon for mayor in 2015. I don't know what his platform is, but if it is as sharp as his hair style, he will be a strong candidate. (h/t Mike Poppy)
The worst dang day of every year: when the Terrace chairs go away. A more upbeat Wisconsin blogger would note how the football team is heating up, basketball season is just around the corner and all that good stuff. But nope. It's November, and the weather's about to get cold as heck.
