The latest bit of Wisconsin men's basketball scheduling to trickle out comes from Buffalo, which will travel to Madison Dec. 28. Interestingly enough, the Bulls will face two Final Four teams (Kentucky is the other) this season. Check out the link above for a breakdown of Buffalo's full schedule, if you're interested.

Alleged victim testifies in Dominic Cizauskas trial

The alleged victim in the Dominic Cizauskas trial testified Wednesday morning, and the trial is expected to be turned over to the jury for deliberation later today. Cizauskas is on trial for allegations of third-degree sexual assault, which allegedly occurred while on campus for his official visit in December. The 2014 Mukwonago High School linebacker was named Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. He verbally committed to Wisconsin on June 19, but never signed a National Letter of Intent. Wisconsin has not been able to comment on the situation because the NCAA forbids schools from discussing recruits who have not signed a LOI.

Mohammed Ahmed's brilliant track and field career drawing to a close

"Ninety to 100 miles a week for five years. That’s a lot."

That's Wisconsin track and field star Mohammed Ahmed in a wonderful feature from the State Journal's Andy Baggot profiling one of UW's most storied runners. A Somali native, Ahmed overcame early classroom struggles and his quiet nature to become a strong team leader and reach numerous milestones along the way. The senior begins the NCAA Outdoor Championships today.

X'zavien Ausborne plans to run track, play football at Wisconsin

This link is unfortunately paywalled, but you can get the gist of the story from the headline. Together with fellow South Oak Cliff (Dallas) cornerback Takadrae Williams, Ausborne's commitment gives the Badgers new inroads into Texas that have generated even more momentum on the recruiting front. The duo committed to UW on Friday.

Previewing Wisconsin with Lake The Posts

Sports on Earth: Melvin Gordon is college football's most explosive runner

"It's not because he's the prototypical Big Ten power back and nobody's strong enough to tackle him; it's because nobody's able to react quickly enough to bring him down."

SoE's Matt Brown knows what's up. His profile of Gordon is fantastic, and auto-read material for all Badgers fans. Hold on, y'all. The season's almost here.

Judge to allow evidence in Dominic Cizauskas sexual assault case

We hope to have a more in-depth look at this case later in the week, but this news has been around for a few days now. Last week, a Dane County judge denied a motion to suppress evidence from a sexual assault exam in the case against Dominic Cizauskas, a linebacker from Mukwonago who committed to UW but never signed his Letter of Intent. Cizauskas allegedly sexually assaulted a female student in a UW dorm room in December and has been charged with third-degree sexual assault. His legal team argued the sexual assault exam should be thrown out because the victim reportedly had sexual contact with her boyfriend before the alleged assault. A hearing has been scheduled for June 9 and a trial is scheduled to start June 16. profiles new Director of Football Operations Jason Thomas

"I’ve adopted a similar philosophy to Coach Andersen. If you take care of yourself academically and socially, athletics will always take care of itself. The type of man and woman you are in the classroom is going to have a direct reflection on the type you are on the field of play."

That's just one quote from Jason Thomas in Mike Lucas' profile of Wisconsin's latest Director of Football operations. The full story is worth a read, as Lucas traces Thomas' path from talented high school wide receiver who was sidetracked by injuries to Utah State's assistant athletics director. Now, he joins the Badgers for Gary Andersen's second year in Madison.

Gary Andersen updates Wisconsin's quarterback battle, sort of

None of that is surprising, though the "WHY NOT BART HOUSTON?!" crowd might be a bit crushed.
